Paulien Van Minsel is a PhD fellow in the Laboratory For Functional Epigenetics, led by Professor Thienpont at the Department of Human Genetics, KU Leuven, Belgium. The group focuses on unraveling the functional role of the epigenome in disease, bridging both fundamental research and the development of cutting-edge epigenetic tools for clinical applications.
Her PhD research investigates the epigenetic drivers of intratumoral heterogeneity in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). For the study of this cell-to-cell variability, she has applied a range of high-throughput single-cell and multi-omics techniques, including CRISPR droplet sequencing (CROP-seq).
She is also an active member of Leuven Institute of Single Cell Omics (LISCO), a research initiative co-founded by Professor Thienpont, where she contributes to the advancement and application of state-of-the-art single-cell technologies across various research areas.
