Yuliya Pylayeva-Gupta, PhD, is a distinguished cancer researcher with a PhD from the Weill Cornell/Sloan Kettering graduate program and postdoctoral studies at the NYU Langone Medical Center. She is an Associate Professor in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which tumors co-opt the immune system to facilitate the emergence and progression of cancer. Her research is particularly focused on the biology of pancreatic cancer, where she investigates immunological mechanisms relevant to the disease's pathogenesis. Dr. Pylayeva-Gupta's work has been directed at studying the role of B cells, myeloid cells, and cytokines in cancer, aiming to understand the mechanisms behind their activation and function in the evolution of cancer and metastasis.
