Sharon Prince
Sharon Prince is the Deputy dean of Research in the Faculty of Health Sciences and a full professor in the Department of Human Biology at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She received her PhD in 1999 and was awarded the prestigious Wellcome Trust Postdoctoral Research fellowship. Her postdoctoral fellowship was conducted at the Marie Curie Research Institute in the United Kingdom where she started her research on investigating the oncogenic roles of the T-box transcription factors TBX2 and TBX3 in, melanoma, sarcomas, breast, cervical and pancreatic cancer. She is a Fellow of the University of Cape Town, a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa, and was a recipient of the South Africa National Research Foundation Hamilton Naki award and the South African Medical Research Council Gold Award. She has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and two granted patents.
