Viola is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Cancer Genomics and Systems Biology Lab of the University of Siena (Italy). Her research applies liquid biopsy techniques to cfDNA (circulating free DNA) to not only enable molecular cancer characterization and monitor disease progression over time, but also to uncover novel genetic signatures. These signatures aim to reveal insights into the mechanisms of treatment resistance and the aggressiveness of advanced solid tumors. By identifying targetable mutations and potential biomarkers, her work seeks to enhance personalized cancer therapies and improve outcomes.
