Dr. Simon Lebaron is a molecular biologist and Research Scientist (Chargé de Recherches INSERM) at the Centre de Biologie Intégrative (MCD-CNRS UMR 5077) in Toulouse, France. His research focuses on ribosome synthesis, nucleolar stress, and the role of 5S RNP particles in ribosomopathies and cancers. After earning his PhD from Université Paul Sabatier in 2008, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Edinburgh, in Pr Tollervey lab where he developed the first in vitro ribosome maturation assay and later at Université Paris Descartes, applying structural biology approaches to ribosome assembly. A recipient of prestigious grants, he is actively involved in mentoring and science communication. His work continues to advance our understanding of ribosome biogenesis and its impact on human
health.
