Dr. József Tóvári is a cancer biologist with extensive experience in experimental oncology and translational cancer research. He obtained his PhD from Semmelweis University in 1999 and was awarded the Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (DSc) degree in 2023. He is the Head of the Department of Experimental Pharmacology at the National Institute of Oncology in Budapest and Scientific Director of KINETO Lab Ltd. During his academic career, he has been actively involved in higher education, supervising MSc and PhD students and contributing to university-level training. Dr. Tóvári’s research focuses on preclinical cancer models, tumor progression and metastasis, mechanisms of drug resistance, and the development of novel targeted anticancer strategies. He has been a member of the board of the Society of Hungarian Oncologists for several years, and is currently also a member of the presidency.
