Dr. Efrat Shema is an Assistant Professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science, specializing in single-molecule epigenetics, developing novel technologies to visualize the epigenome, and understanding genome regulation in cancer, particularly gliomas, with aims towards new diagnostics and therapies. After her PhD at the Weizmann Institute, she did postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Broad Institute before returning to the Weizmann Institute to lead her own lab, focusing on epigenetic vulnerabilities in cancer.
