Janne Janne Lehtiö Karolinska Institutet and SciLifeLab Sweden

Janne Lehtiö is professor of medical proteomics at KI with position as clinical chemist at the Karolinska Univ. Hospital. Lehtiö’s group has pioneered proteogenomics by integrating genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics to uncover new coding regions in the human genome and decode cancer-specific molecular mechanisms by combined development of in-depth proteomics and computational methods. Lately he has focused on systems medicine focusing on topological proteome-network analysis for combination treatment selection. Beyond basic research, Lehtiö team has developed the Molecular Tumor Board Portal, a digital clinical decision support tool used in large European precision oncology trials to guide patient treatment based on personal omics data. He is currently leading Precision Medicine and Diagnostics area in Data Driven Life Science Program, a national program hosted by SciLifeLab and financed by KAW foundation. He is a member of the Nobel Assembly for Medicine or Physiology at Karolinska Institutet and board of directors at Karolinska Comprehensive Cancer Center and Cancer Core Europe as well as chairing Proteome Medicine Sweden, a governmentally finances innovation environment.
