Rita C Acúrcio concluded her PhD in 2019 and is currently a Junior Researcher at the Research Institute for Medicines (iMedULisboa), integrated into the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Lisboa. Her research interests are developing immunotherapeutic tools (nanotechnology- and small-molecule-based tools) to overcome tumor immunosuppression by targeting immune cells in pharmacologically active sites, namely the tumor microenvironment and metastasis.
