GeorgiosSflomos
George Sflomos is a Senior Cancer Research Scientist based in Switzerland. His research focuses on Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC), a common yet historically understudied subtype of breast cancer. He has helped advance physiologically relevant preclinical models—including intraductal in vivo approaches—to better capture ILC growth, hormone responsiveness, and metastatic behavior. His work also interrogates tumor–microenvironment interactions, including extracellular matrix remodeling pathways, and has highlighted LOX/LOXL-axis biology (including LOXL1) as a potential therapeutic vulnerability in lobular disease.
